Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  How many people do you send for a conference?
A.  For the Standard Webcast, we send a minimum of two people per simultaneous room.  For the Essential Webcast only one person per room is required.

Q.  What do you need from my A/V company?
A.  All we need is a feed from the house audio system and a VGA feed from the projector.

Q.  Do I need to choose between the Standard or Essential Webcast for all the sessions I would like captured during my conference or can I alternate between the two services?
A. Absolutely! Depending on the significance of the session, the level of audience interaction, and the final result you are looking for, you can choose to capture some with multiple cameras and others using a single camera.

Q. What if I need some of my Essential Webcast sessions to be edited?
A. Performedia can always upgrade an Essential session to the level of editing typical for the Standard product.  Quotes are provided upon request.

Q.  My event is over, when can I expect the finished portal?
A.  The link to your portal will be live ten business days after your conference.   Upon special request and additional fee, we can have the link up and running sooner.  Ultimately, the portal is not complete until you and your team are happy with the product.

Q.  Can I get DVDs made of my conference content?
A.  For an additional charge, Performedia can provide you with a master disk which you are more than welcome to duplicate and pass out to attendees, sponsors, or colleagues.

Q.  Can we host our own content?
A.  Yes, but the video requires either a Flash Media Server or a contract with a commercial Content Delivery Network.  Why would you want to?  Hosting is included and there is nothing more for you to do!

Q.  Who owns the content from the show?
A.  Our customers retain all ownership and rights to the content.

Q.  Why doesn’t the video play?
A. If the video does not begin to play automatically, please try closing the player window and re-launching it. If that doesn’t work, your network may be configured in such a way as not to allow streaming content to come through to your computer. This is especially true on business networks; therefore, please contact your network administrator.
You may also not have enough bandwidth throughput to support the streaming video version you chose. Please close the player and choose a lower bandwidth version from the launch page. If you do not know your incoming bandwidth rate, please click on the link in the middle of the sentence “Choose your connection speed - or click here for a recommendation” on the launch page.

Q.  Why can't I hear any audio when the video is playing?
A.  First, check your connections. Make sure your speakers are plugged into your sound card and your outlet. Make sure your speakers are turned on and the volume is turned up.  If you still cannot hear audio, try adjusting your volume on your computer's control panel and on the player.
To adjust the volume on your Computer's Control Panel:
1.       Select Start, Settings, Control Panel and Sounds and Multimedia
2.       Select the Audio tab and the Volume button under Audio Playback
3.       Turn up the volume (If it is grayed out, your system is not configured for sound)

To adjust the volume in the player, click on the (+) or (-) buttons next to the little loudspeaker icon below the lower right portion of the video window.
